The More Their Importance, The Bigger Their Effect

According to Mr Azmi, Emotional Intelligence (EI) is about how we use our awareness and understanding of emotions to manage our own emotions as well as the emotions of those around us for a positive outcome. The primary factor impacting our emotions would be the people we come in contact with. The closer their bond to us, the more impact they will have on our emotions. The secondary factor will be our own ability to manage our emotions. This can help us to consciously decide whether we want to allow other people to have an impact on our emotions.

Beware Your Emotions!

Before making a decision, be aware of your emotional state and check if your emotions are influencing your decision. For example, if you are angry, be aware of your anger and ask yourself if you would make the same decision if you were not angry. If the answer is no, you should reject your angry decision and instead choose the decision you would have taken if you were not angry.

Thought-Provoking Quote

When asked about the best quotes to share with the participants he brings out his most motivational, and uplifting quote by Alexander Graham Bell, “When one door closes, another opens but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.”. The door refers to opportunities. It means that with the loss of one opportunity, another will replace it. We just need to be mentally ready and open-minded to recognise the new opportunity.
