Prof Dr Ashraf is currently the Chief Executive Officer of ISRA Consultancy as well as a senior researcher at the International Shari'ah Research  Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA). He is heavily involved in Shari’ah advisory including being a member  of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia and member of the Shariah Committee, Bursa Malaysia . He secured  his M.A. (Fiqh and Usul Fiqh) from University of Jordan and  a  PhD in Islamic Law from the University of Birmingham, UK.
